I think the rest of 2026 is just going to be a Tsunami of Dramas coming out. It is always the months where I have no time to watch dramas that we get all of the dramas we have been waiting for all year to come out. OCTOBER IS STACKED WITH ALL KINDS OF DRAMAS I WANT TO WATCH! September was a fairly good month for me watching dramas. I got back into watching some on-air dramas and I also completed some dramas that I needed to do for some podcast episodes I recorded. So, ALL – IN – ALL A GOOD SEPTEMBER MONTH!

DRAMAS/MOVIES I COMPLETED IN SEPTEMBER 2026
September was chalk full of dramas I watched for Podcast episodes that either are already out on the podcast or podcast episodes that are coming out in the next month or so. I completed a fair number of dramas but mostly dramas that have not been lingering on my current watchlist. I need to work on getting some of those off of my watchlist now in October. I am hoping I can clear out my current watchlist of dramas I have been “watching” for a long time by the end of the year and go into 2026 with mostly new dramas.
Alice in Borderland Season 1 (Jdrama) (rewatch) (NETFLIX): This is a REWATCH for me. I have rewatched Season 1 of this Jdrama 3 times now. I just LOVE IT! I love how it is related to Alice in Wonderland and a deck of cards. I love the games and how they make you think or feel. You become attached to character which is dangerous. The acting is phenomenal and you just can’t predict what is going to happen which means I am on the edge of my seat when I watch this Jdrama. There will be a podcast episode coming out in October about this drama and Squid Game.
RATING: 9/10
Alice in Borderland Season 2 (Jdrama) (NETFLIX): I wanted Arisu to do more this season. I still loved the season, I just felt like he wasn’t as much of a participant as much as he was in S1. I loved the character development & how big of a scale the games were. I also did not like that Arisu & Usagi were “fighting” a lot this season. I loved the introduction of the new characters because they were BADASS! I loved that this season amped up the emotions even more. I am really curious how I am going to like Season 3. There will be a podcast episode coming out in October about this drama and Squid Game.
RATING: 9/10
Squid Game Season 1 (Kdrama) (rewatch) (NETFLIX): This was a REWATCH for me. I have not watched this since it was airing. I am surprised but I still enjoyed this season a lot. I enjoyed this more than I thought I was going to. I had a lot of fun rewatching this and I was reminded of a lot of memorable scenes and characters. I am now going to watch the other seasons. We will see if I enjoy the other seasons. There will be a podcast episode coming out in October about this drama and Alice in Borderland.
RATING: 9/10
Why I Dress Up for Love (Jdrama) (NETFLIX/VIKI): I liked that there were multiple couples in this drama. I loved how the main couple supported each other and grew with each other. I did not like the love triangle (pentagon). I am not a fan of miscommunication so, that was annoying in this drama. I think this is a sweet drama with lots of things to love but I wanted more context and info with all 3 couples and some storylines. There is a podcast review for this on the Podcast right now.
RATING: 9/10
Petrichor (Thai Drama) (IQIYI): I wanted to like this more. The main couple was the best part, but I did get annoyed with both characters at times. I also needed more emotion during the emotional scenes from them. I needed more of second couple. The middle dragged in this drama. I also guessed the main bad guy because there were not a lot of options to choose from. It was an okay drama.
RATING: 7.5/10

DRAMAS I DROPPED IN SEPTEMBER 2026
I dropped 2 dramas over the last 2 months. I dropped 1 drama in August and 1 drama in September.
Goodbye, My Princess (Cdrama) (VIKI): I forgot to mention that I dropped this drama back in August. I was trying to watch it for an upcoming podcast episode, but I could not get into and everyone else who was supposed to record the podcast episode also dropped the drama.
Knot (Thai Drama) (IQIYI): I fell behind on this drama and then I heard mixed reviews about the ending and the story so, I decided to drop it instead of finishing it.

NEW OCTOBER 2026 DRAMAS I AM EXCITED FOR
October is going to be a CRAZY month for dramas. I don’t know why I so surprised anymore given that we are 3 months out from the end of the year. I feel like we always get a MOUNTAIN of dramas that come out in the last 3 months of 2026. Maybe it is because the holidays start and my life just becomes more chaotic. I got a good mix of everything for you guys from countries to genres to time periods and subject matters. We will see what I click play on because I want to start watching more airing dramas, but I also need to balance what I am ALREADY currently watching and getting some of those dramas off of my current watchlist as I add new ones to it. ALSO, OCTOBER IS SUPPSOED TO BE ALL ABOUT THE CRIME AND SCARY MOMENTS DUE TO HALLOWEEN! So, maybe that is what I will concentrate on.

Kidnap Game (Jdrama) [PREMIERES OCTOBER 6, 2026] (11 episodes)
I hope this Jdrama comes to an international streaming site because right now there is none. Lee Joon Gi is BACK, and he has not done a drama in quite some time. I am excited to see him in a darker drama in October. I love that the Kidnap Game spans multiple Asian countries and stars so many well-known Asian Actors/Actresses. I hope it is a good drama and works out because I think that is what makes this drama stand out and is unique. The story is about kidnappings that occur across 7 Asian Cities simultaneously. The victim’s families each are contacted and they have to play a game to kind their loved ones that were kidnapped. It is a life-or-death game scenario with people who are desperate to win to save their loved who was kidnapped.

Doctor X: Mafia in White (Kdrama) (NETFLIX) [PREMIERES OCTOBER 9, 2026] (12 Episodes)
I really wanted to watch at least 1 season of the Jdrama version of Doctor X before the Kdrama version premiered but here we are. I have not clicked play on any of the seasons of the Jdrama version of Doctor X. I first found out about this Kdrama early on in 2026 when the first teasers came out. I knew IMMEDIATELY this would be a Kdrama I would want to check out. This is about a genius surgeon who is placed in a hospital through a doctor placement agency. Her character comes in to expose the problems within the hospital and tries to right them. Her character seems like it will be a character who does not take flak from anyone and is a genius who doesn’t bow to authority. I think this will be a fun watch because I am a sucker for a story like this.

A Calm Sea and Beautiful Days with You Season 2 (Jdrama) [PREMIERES OCTOBER 15, 2026] (10 episodes)
I think really the only reason I have interest in this Jdrama is because I watched Season 1. I thought Season 1 was cute but at times it was a little too fluffy for me. The couple was very awkward together in Season 1 but that was also their charm. I am curious what will happen in Season 2. Has the couple become more comfortable with each other? What will their life be life now that some time has passed? What obstacles will the couple come across now that they have been married a bit (at least I assume some time will have passed by season 2). Season 1 was about newlyweds getting to know each other after marriage and the issues popup because of that. Due to the husband being in the navy, it also dealt with the unique issues with the husband being a part of the military in the late 1930s. The couple were cute together though.

Lost 10 (Jdrama) (NETFLIX) [PREMIERES OCTOBER 16, 2026] (10 Episodes)
Apparently this Jdrama is coming to Netflix in October. I have never heard of this Jdrama until I noticed it was coming to Netflix. I do like a lot of the cast like Yokohama Ryusei who I have seen in multiple Jdramas I watched in 2026. This is a thriller Jdrama about a mountain accident with a group of people. It was a guided hiking and climbing tour on a mountain and something goes wrong. At first, it looks like an accident, but could it be something else? I love this type of set up for a crime/thriller drama. You have an ensemble cast. Something happens and now it has to be investigated. Everyone is a suspect and maybe everyone knows what happened but isn’t willing to talk. You got some great actors and actresses in the cast. I am very excited for this one AND IT WILL BE ON NETFLIX!

Love in Disguise (Kdrama) [PREMIERES OCTOBER 19, 2026] (12 Episodes)
I am on the fence about this one and if I am going to check it out. It is one of those Kdramas where it has every genre in 1 Kdrama. It is an office rom com, but it also has mystery and thriller involved because of the story. I do love the cast even the actors in the supporting cast. This is an office rom com where Im Si Wan plays a chaebol who is a suspect in a murder. Seor In A is a woman who disc=guises herself as a man and becomes Im Si Wan’s secretary to investigate him and see if he actually is the murderer. She plays his bodyguard as well and thus romance occurs. I like the idea of a police officer going undercover to investigate the chaebol, but it is also a rom com so, I am sure there will be funny parts especially because Im Si Wan’s character seems very eccentric and Seor In A is pretending to be a man. I might put this one on the back burner and see what people think about it. I do LOVE Seor in A’s hair in this Kdrama.

The Perfect Lie (Kdrama) [PREMIERES OCTOBER 30, 2026] (12 Episodes)
There is no poster or trailer released for this drama yet. The genres on MDL are Thriller and Psychological. That intrigues me. The synopsis also does not give much away. It is about two women and two men who go on perfect first dates and then right after everything goes wrong. It is unclear in the synopsis what goes wrong and who is the villain or the bad character. I love both leads in this drama and I know they can do the thriller genre well. I also know both actors can act well. So, we will just have to check this drama out and see what it is. I mean it is a thriller so, who am I kidding, I will probably check it out.

Dead End Job (Kdrama) (NETFLIX) [PREMIERED OCTOBER 30, 2026] (8 Episodes)
Netflix showed off this Kdrama in their 2026 lineup video a while back in the year. This looked to be a straight up horror Kdrama so, it is perfect to be coming out at the end of October. This is about a man who is drowning in debt and get this too good to be true job offer. He gets paid A LOT of money to do odd jobs, but the jobs increasingly become weirder and more bizarre. The trailer for Dead End Job definitely makes this drama seem scary and suspenseful. It has a mystery to it because the agency giving these jobs is very mysterious and has a boss that no one knows a lot about. THE PERFECT DRAMA FOR HALLOWEEN!
RUMORED CDRAMAS I AM EXCITED FOR THAT MIGHT AIR IN OCTOBER 2026
Cdramas are NOT slowing down in October. Remember this list is only for the rumored Cdramas I am interested in watching. I am sure there are other rumored Cdramas for October that are not in my list because I know I am not interested in them to check them out. If these Cdramas don’t air in October, don’t blame me. These are all rumors for cdramas coming out in October – they are not confirmed. A Cdrama I mentioned before multiple times is Hidden Shadow and that is rumored for an October release. It hasn’t happened yet in 2026 even though it has been rumored multiple months so, we will have to wait and see if it finally releases in October.

The Lament of Autumn (Mango TV) [Rumored for October 11th, 2026] (38 Episodes)
I know this is a HIGHLY anticipated Cdrama FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE! I feel like 2026 is the year for republican era dramas because there are a lot of HIGHLY anticipated republican era cdramas in 2026. REPUBLICAN ERA CDRAMAS ARE MY JAM! I love dramas from this era, and I don’t watch enough of them. I am excited to see Cheng Lei take on the Republican Era. HE LOOKS GOOD IN THESE COSTUMES! Cheng Lei has done this era before but not often and is more known for his historical roles. His character is also supposed to be VERY toxic in this drama, and I know he can play toxic well because he has done it before. I don’t think I have ever seen the female lead Xu Ruo Han in anything, but I know of her. This story has a little bit of everything. It has romance, mystery, marriage of convenience, investigation all in the republican era setting. We know how tragic Republican Era setting dramas can be so, I am assuming this is not going to be a happy ending drama or even a happy story drama.

Where The Mask Ends (YOUKU) [Rumored for Around October 16th, 2026] (24 Episodes)
I honestly did not think this drama was going to come out in 2026 BUT HERE WE ARE – IT IS RUMORED FOR OCTOBER! Tian Xi Wei is the female lead in this one and she is coming off the monster success of the Pursuit of Jade. She is apparently playing dual roles in this drama which is an interesting twist. She looks fantastic in the trailer, and I can’t wait to see her play this character. Yan An is the male lead. I know him from Kpop and I know he is an actor in cdramas but personally have not seen any of his dramas yet. He does look great in historical costume. So, I really don’t have an opinion on him as the male lead. The trailers I have seen really concentrate on Tian Xi Wei’s characters and mostly the female characters in the drama. This drama looks intense though and I am loving what the trailer is showing me.

Tiger Sniffs the Rose (TENCENT) [Rumored for October 20th, 2026] (40 Episodes)
I don’t have to explain why this Cdrama is HIGHLY anticipated. If you have seen Blossom, I am sure you know why. I just watched Blossom this year so, it is exciting that this Cdrama is potentially coming out in 2026. Tigers Sniff the Rose is still a weird title to me. This is a reunion between Meng Zi Yi and Li Yu Rui which I am sure everyone is excited about – myself included. I like that it isn’t a carbon copy of Blossom so, I hope that makes it stand out. This is about a princess and a scholar who work together over time to serve the country and protect it. Both characters seem very ambitious. The trailer does have parts of revenge in it and Meng Zi Yi’s character seems a bit crazy which is interesting. I am curious if both this drama and Where the Mask Ends air at the same time, will the stories be similar or at least the female lead characters be too similar? The leads do look great together though.

Shadow Punisher (IQIYI) [Rumored for October 24th, 2026] (30 Episodes)
I did not get around to watching Luo Yun Xi’s other drama from 2026 BUT MAN I AM SO EXCITED TO WATCH HIM IN HISTORY COSTUME AGAIN! I also love a lot of the supporting cast members like Alen Fang and Shen Yu Jie. Being a story that centers around a detective bureau obviously also piques my interest. We got Luo Yun Xi, Shen Yu Jie as a forensic examiner and Alen Fang as a detective teaming up to solve cases together. This cdrama was MADE FOR ME! This drama is a historical crime/detective story which I have said countless times is some of my favorite genre of cdramas. This one looks very creepy at times as well.

Ctrl+Alt+Life (YOUKU) [Rumored for Late October 2026]
This cdrama is highly anticipated by a lot of people, especially if you are a lover of the esports genre in cdramas. I don’t think we have had a drama in this genre in a couple of years at least. I think what makes this one unique is it is a soul swapping drama where a rookie and a veteran player swap souls. I think this will make for an interesting set up. Joseph Zeng and Zhang Kang Le star in this drama which I think is an interesting pairing. I don’t think I have ever seen Zhang Kang Le in a drama but I have DEFINITELY seen Joseph Zeng in a drama so, we will see if this one actually premieres or not in October.

Light the Dark (IQIYI) [Rumored for October 2026] (12 Episodes)
I have been looking forward to this Cdrama for a while now and I HOPE it premieres in October like it is rumored too. This seems like a role for Che Zhe Yuan that I have never seen before for him, and I am excited for that. I am excited that this is a different relationship with the leads being brother and sister. I am interested in their dynamic. This is a story about a family who lost parents due to a gas pipeline explosion. Years later, another explosion happens which makes the original explosion investigation come to light again. The siblings get pulled into the reinvestigation of both accidents. This sounds like it could have some AMAZING acting in it and also could be a heartbreaking story.
