WE ARE BACK! I didn't get around to putting out a "MY WATCHLIST" blogpost for August so, I wanted to make sure I did one for September. As I said for most of August, I was busy, but I also was emptying my current watchlist. So, SEPTEMBER HAS ALL NEW DRAMAS AND ANIMES ON MY WATCHLIST!! Now, I may have mentioned some of these dramas that I am now watching but I have now clicked play on all of them. THAT BEING SAID, THIS MEANS I AM NOT FAR IN ANY OF THESE DRAMAS! I just clicked play on all of them in the last couple of days.
KDRAMAS
Pachinko Season 2 - I AM FINALLY WATCHING SEASON 2 OF PACHINKO!! I was a little late in tarty this so, I have only watched the first 2 episodes, but it is so nice to be watching this wonderful show again. Season 1 of Pachinko was one of my top dramas I watched in 2022 when it aired. I will not be surprised if I end up loving Season 2 of this Kdrama and it is one of my top shows again of 2024 at the end of the year. I am 2 episodes into this drama, and I already know I am going to love the drama, and it will be another masterpiece of a season. I already SOBBED in episode 2 of this drama. The fact that this drama covers World War II in this season makes the stakes even higher for Season 2 so far. I am excited to see how the story plays out in the episodes to come. ALSO, I LOVE THIS POSTER! It is beautiful!
KVARIETY
Road to Kingdom: Ace to Ace - I have watched every season of Queendom, Kingdom and Road to Kingdom so far so, I was not going to miss the newest season. I also know all of the groups on the show. That is always a plus for me because that means I can cheer for everyone on the show. Another plus for this show is my ULT BIAS is the host! Yes, Taemin is my ULT bias. So, seeing his face every week will always be a good thing. There was already heartbreak with the first episode. MNet also already did some evil editing which we all know is a problem with MNet. Another random and potentially bad thing about watching this show is that VIKI has not picked it up. So, YOU HAVE TO WATCH IT THAT DAY! Yes, MNet streams the episode live on their YouTube with subs and leaves it up for 1 day and 1 day only. So, if I miss even one day, I will not be able to watch the episode. THAT SUCKS! Also, the subs are not the best. They aren't the worst, but they could be a lot better. I am just here for all of the performances and group interactions. I don't know how I feel about the new rules yet. I just hope being on the show introduces these groups to more people and gets them more people to follow them because all of them are very talented. There will be a BREAK WITH VARIETY podcast episode for this once it is over.
CDRAMAS
Detective Chinatown Season 2 - You will tell from my current watchlist that I am trying to get through multiple Season 2s. Detective Chinatown is one of them. I should have watched Season 2 of this drama MONTHS AGO! I rewatched Season 1 which aired in 2020 earlier this year to do just that and I am just getting to it now. I have watched about 3 episodes of this drama. It is giving the same vibes as Season 1. Every 3 to 4 episodes will be a new case. Characters from the very popular movie series will show up. I am sure characters from Season 1 will show up again. I still have not seen any of the movies so, my only reference for these characters is from the first season. There are even characters that show up in Season 2 of this series that are clearly from the latest movie, and I don't recognize them. This drama still has a fantastic OST for its title song which I loved from Season 1.
Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty Season 1 - I really only have watched the first couple of episodes of this drama. This is another drama that has been on my plan to watchlist for a LONG TIME! Especially since there is a Season 2 now out and there will probably be a Season 3 coming at some point. I plan to watch Season 2 right when I finish Season 1. I love the dynamic of the two leads. I love how spooky this drama is. I am a sucker for historical mystery dramas. I love to watch enemies to friends' tropes especially in a bromance sense. This will totally be the same kind of thing. I like that one of the leads is a little more eccentric than the other, but both are quite smart. It is definitely the trope of brawn paired with brain though. I can't wait to see their relationship progress through Season 1. You can see there is already a mystery brewing with one of the main characters and his background. I am looking forward to the cases and how supernatural and crazy they will get. I should have watched this drama A LONG TIME AGO!
JDRAMAS
Perfect Propose - I am almost done with this quick Jdrama. You give me any drama about food - I AM THERE! This one is short and sweet. I have 2 more episodes of this drama and then I will be finished with this. Japanese BL dramas are fantastic. I love the dynamic between these two leads. They both are helping the other out with dealing with certain things in their lives. They are changing and striving to make their lives better through each other. We love an older male and younger male relationship. This one is just cute and sweet and not filled with a lot of angst. I wish we got more food shots because you can always use more food porn in a drama.
Alice in Borderland Season 1 - DON'T ASK ME WHY I AM REWATCHING SEASON 1 OF THIS JDRAMA! The amount of anxiety I still have this drama even though I already know what is going to happen is ridiculous. Don't come at me but I have said this before, and I will say it again - Alice in Borderland is BETTER than Squid Game. I am rewatching season 1 because Season 2 is out, and I have not watched it. Season 1 came out in 2020 so; I remember a lot of it but not all of it. Season 3 has been rumored for 2024 but I don't think that will happen at this point but there is supposed to be a Season 3 coming. If you liked Squid Game, give this one a shot. Just be aware that it is dark, violent, anxiety fulfilled, and no one is safe. I REPEAT NO ONE IS SAFE! It is wonderfully acted. This drama even got me to start reading the manga which doesn't happen often.
ANIME
Apothecary Diaries Season 1 - I should have already watched this anime BUT HERE WE ARE! I am watching it now. NEEDLESS TO SAY - I AM LOVING IT! This anime was MADE FOR ME! Liliana from Tea and Soju podcast told me this tidbit of info, but I love when the female lead turns into a cat and apparently, she turns into a cat when she is excited because her name means cat. So, she has cat ears when she gets excited. It is the little things. I have only watched the first 4 episodes, and I am enjoying it so far. I am liking the lead characters' dynamic with each other. I love the mysteries we have so far. I can see myself enjoying the female relationships within the anime. There is a lot I will love with this anime by the time I am done with it. I know that for a fact. I wanted to watch this because I know Season 2 is coming next year.
TDRAMAS
Light the Night Season 2 - Another season where I should have watched Season 2 and 3 WAY EARLIER in 2024 than right now. I should have just clicked play on Season 2 right when I finished Season 1. Season 2 starts exactly where Season 1 ends. I am sure more secrets will be revealed this season. I am sure everyone will be a suspect now that we know who the murder victim from Season 1 was. I am curious how Season 2 will end and how Season 3 will start. I will definitely be watching Season 3 RIGHT AFTER I complete Season 2. I will not be waiting like 4 months to get to the next season.

I FINALLY HAVE A COMPLETELY NEW CURRENT WATCHLIST!! Hopefully I can move stuff along on it and catch up on some dramas I had to skip in the last month and half or so because life got busy, and I was trying to empty my current watchlist. I am glad I can now release a watchlist for this month even though it is a little later in the month than when I usually do it. I think I got a good mix of dramas, genres and countries on this list. I CAN'T BELIEVE I AM ONLY WATCHING 1 KDRAMA RIGHT NOW! 😂 I hope I can finish some dramas before September ends because I have only completed 1 drama so far this month because I was cleaning out my watchlist.
