MY WATCHLIST - MARCH 2025

THANK GOD! I feel somewhat normal again. I think I have really found a balance between all the crazy stuff going on in the world and my drama watching. I think I am using March to clear out my watchlist. I need to get things off my plate because I need to start watching some new things for upcoming podcast episodes. So, since I am clearing out my current watchlist, I will be finishing a lot of the things I mention in this blogpost by the end of March i.e. in the next couple of weeks.

Another pattern that I seem to be noticing over the first few months on 2025 is I am watching WAY LESS AIRING KDRAMAS! I think this is for a few reasons. One reason, I am getting pickier with what I am starting in the first place. Since I mostly am only interested in crime Kdramas, those are the ones I am clicking play on. I am averaging about 2-3 airing Kdramas a month that I am interested in checking out. I think another reason why I am only clicking play on 2-3 airing Kdramas is because there have not been a TON of crime Kdramas coming out. Some months in 2024, it seemed like the only genre that was airing at the time was crime Kdramas. The first couple months of 2025, it seems like there have always been 2-3 crime Kdramas but also just a good variety of a lot of genres airing.

Because I am only watching 2-3 airing Kdramas at a time, this means I am checking out more Cdramas and other countries overall. I definitely still want to check out more Jdramas since I said that in my New Years Resolutions. I also will be watching more older dramas in the next few months and rewatches due to podcast recordings. I am getting more excited on what I am watching - more than I have in the past 2 months. I also plan to still keep my current watchlist pretty condensed due to my hectic work schedule and my life just being hectic in general. You will still get a watchlist blogpost every month though. I hope this new momentum continues though.

KDRAMAS

Buried Hearts - This is BY FAR one of my favorite things I am watching right now. Some of the tropes that have come up in this drama are some of my favorites like Amnesia. The revenge plot of this drama is going to be so satisfying. I think this is one of my favorite Park Hyung Sik roles I have seen him do. I am curious how the main couple is going to work out by the end of this drama because I just don't see them happening but crazier things have happened. Park Hyung Sik potentially has a big year in 2025. He potentially has 3 Kdramas coming out including this one and all seem like high quality. Buried Hearts is also KILLING IT in ratings in Korea right now. I am also loving Huh Joon Ho in this role as well because he plays a villain SO WELL! The actress who is playing Eunnam is doing very well with this role as well in my opinion, even if we might hate her character. 😂 I am a little behind on this drama and I can't wait for it to get crazier and crazier as we go. I am sure more secrets will come out.

The Art of Negotiation - I am SO INTRIGUED by this drama. There are many things that are keeping my interest right now. One thing that stands out to me is the music. The music is SO INTENSE compared to the subject matter of the drama or what is going on in the drama. It is sort of hilarious how intense the music is. I will say one thing that I don't like is the episode length is almost an hour and a half which I think is WAY TO LONG! Lee Je Hoon's character is another intriguing thing about this Kdrama for me. I mean I know I said that I was at least checking this drama out because of his character having white hair. LET ME TELL YOU - HE PULLS IT OFF SO WELL! Once you get into the Kdrama, you as an audience member, you want to know more about his character. You can tell his character has an ulterior motive to being back in Korea and at the company. You also don't really know why he left Korea in the first place. There is a lot of mystery surrounding his character. The company also always seems to throw a ticking timebomb at him and every time him and his team overcome it. I am not sure I can handle the intern being stupid for much longer though. His character is always doing something wrong or just common sense to not do. So, the intern needs to get better soon. I like the rest of the team though. I am curious where this story will go.

KVARIETY

Please Take Care of My Refrigerator Season 2 - I am still watching this show. I am watching episodes here and there. Netflix also seems to have extended the show. Originally it had like 12 episodes planned but I guess now Netflix is showing it has been bumped to 24 episodes. So, I guess I will be watching this show for a while. I don't mind this, it is a great show to throw on at the end of a long week and watch a couple of episodes here and there. I am not caught up AT ALL! I also like doing mini binges with this show so, I am not mad. I should probably watch more episodes to catch up a bit though. Again, since the episodes have been extended, I have not been concentrating on this show because as I said earlier, I have been getting stuff off my current watchlist. This show is just an easy, fun watch for me too.

CDRAMAS

Love and Destiny - I have to get it together and get to watching this Cdrama. I have watched about 15 episodes out of 60 and I need to finish it in about 3 weeks, and I am busy the next 3 weeks a lot. It will be interesting to see how I end up finishing this drama. I need to finish it because I am recording a review of it for the podcast. I know I said I was trying to avoid binging it, but I think that still will need to happen. So, far I like what I have watched in this drama. I think I still early in it though because I know Liliana and Jess from the drama trio who are going to be reviewing this with me both are farther than me in it and both are bored. 😂 So, we will have to see how it goes. Apparently, there are A LOT of palace politics that come into play - more than where I am currently in the Cdrama. I will say I am a fan of both of the actors playing the leads. It has been fun watching them act side by side and as leads who are eventually going to be a couple. Obviously, some very well-known tropes of Xianxia have worked their way into this drama as well.

Scarlet Heart - I just clicked play on the first episode of this the other night. I am watching this classic for another podcast review coming up. Now, I will point some things out first. I have never watched Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo from start to finish. I feel like I have seen enough scenes from that drama over the years on social media that I feel like I have watched the drama. That Kdrama is a remake of this 2011 Cdrama and the Kdrama came out in 2016. I recognized scenes from this Chinese version title credits that the Korean remake exactly copied from this Cdrama. So, I think that will be fun to spot as I watch this drama. I am sure it will be just as heartbreaking as I know the Korean version is. There are many famous actors/actresses in this Cdrama Scarlet Heart - also some BIG age gaps. The first episode was wild because you can definitely see the Cdramas age with the CGI and things. It also had a lot more comedy in it than I expected it to have. So, I am excited to watch more and see if I can pick out more similarities with the Kdrama version but also check pout the ORIGINAL scarlet Heart where everything started. THIS WAS A HUGE AND POPULAR CDRAMA BACK IN THE DAY!

ANIME

All of the anime I am currently watching end in the next couple of weeks so, all of them will be off my current watchlist in April. I will say, I am never watching Anime as it airs again. I prefer to binge anime, and I am glad I know that now. That being said, I am behind on all of this anime because I just saved up episodes to binge and finish them.

Ameku M.D.: Doctor Detective - I am still loving this anime. I still love that it is Sherlock Coded. You become invested in the characters and care about their relationships. This anime has a strong sense of found family as well. This will be a very good binge for me. Procedural shows are my fav. I will say some of the other staff in the other departments who don't like the main girl will get on your nerves for sure but that ever Sherlock coded because she can be quite rude but also no one chooses to get to know her either. Some of the cases are predictable but that doesn't seem to annoy me a lot in this anime as it has in the past.

My Happy Marriage Season 2 - I AM SO BEHIND ON THIS ANIME! I just decided that I was going to wait and binge this when it was mostly out or done with. I was thinking that the beginning was slow, but I think that was unfair because I was trying to watch it as it aired and because I was watching it as it aired, it seemed like nothing was happening with every new episode. I think this will also be a really good binge. I hope I like it as much as I like Season 1. I am curious to see how our main couple's relationship has progressed in Season 2. I am anticipating that there will be a Season 3 so, I am bracing that it will end on somewhat of a cliffhanger.

Solo Leveling Season 2: Arise from the Shadow - I feel like with every episode, this anime tops itself. Just when I think Solo leveling can't outdo itself - IT DOES! The cliffhangers kill me EVERY WEEK and I know I said that before. The cliffhangers are one of the reasons why I am behind on this and just want to binge it because I could not wait every week for a new episode. The fight scenes are INSANE and I love them! I am sure this season will end on a cliffhanger and then we have to wait a long time for the new season.

Zenshu - This anime ends tomorrow so, I am hoping I can binge it today and finish it tomorrow. This anime really has surprised me with how much I am loving it. I had no expectations coming into the anime. As I predicted on my last watchlist episode, the main girl has gotten less selfish. THE VISUALS OF THIS ANIME IS STILL BREATHTAKING! I am so curious how this anime will end because I have definitely cried a couple of times, but we all know It doesn't take much for me to cry.
