My Current Watchlist looks the same but also different from my January 2024 Watchlist. There are definitely some dramas that I should be done with already or at least caught up with to finish them in the next few weeks. NEWS FLASH - I AM BEHIND ON A LOT OF THE ON-AIR KDRAMAS! 😂 I still have some new dramas on my current watchlist that I started. I also have some dramas that I have not even started yet and that will probably show up in my March Watchlist blogpost. I am happy that I have definitely completed more dramas in February than I did in January, so, I see that as a success already. even if I am behind on multiple dramas.
Remember if I put ADDICTED next to any drama, that means I AM LOVING THE DRAMA!
KDRAMAS
Captivating the King - I have only watched the first episode of this drama. I was surprised I liked the first episode as much as I did because saegeuks are not usually my thing. Jo Jung Suk is such a good actor. He is SO dynamic in this role. He is KILLING this role. I was also not mad with his chemistry with Shin Sae Kyeong was good in the first episode. Another reason I was surprised I liked the first episode so much with this drama is because it is ANGSTY AS HELL!! I normally can't do angst but for some reason this drama worked for me. I hear good things about future episodes so, that is why I have not dropped this drama yet, even though I am really far behind. This is going to be ONE ANGSTY RIDE - that is for sure.
A Killer Paradox - I clicked play on this last night. I liked the first episode but I have heard mixed reviews about the second half of this drama. I really try to not let opinions I hear skew how I watch a drama. I did not hear any spoilers or anything but just general opinions on the second half of this drama. I am not even at the part where Choi Woo Sik realizes that he has a super power. I am still very early in this drama. I definitely have noticed Son Suk Ku. I understand why people are talking about him. We knew this about him though. Because so many people have said things about the second half of this drama, I am curious to see what changed in the second half and what my opinion of the second half and the drama as a whole will be.
Bad Thief, Good Thief - I have not made any more progress with this drama. I am trying to catch up/complete other dramas that I started when they were airing. Now these "on-air" dramas have completed airing or are almost done airing and I am multiple episodes behind and not even close to finishing them. I am still in the part of this drama when all of the leads are still children. I also might have not watched more because it was unexpectedly sad in the first couple of episodes. I have not been in the mood to cry lately, but when am I EVER in the mood to cry. I am not dropping this because it is a drama, I plan to be watching for many months but I do need to get back into it and watch more episodes.
Love Song for Illusion - This is another drama Korean drama where I have not watched any more episodes since my last watchlist blogpost. I don't want to drop it yet because I have only watched 1 episode. I think I will enjoy it; I just need to watch more episodes. I said this in my January 2024 Watchlist blogpost and podcast episode, Park Ji Hoon is such a good actor. I will watch him in anything. I think I will enjoy this drama. I just need to get my butt in gear and click play on more episodes. It has a lot of things in the synopsis and premise that are right up my alley.
Marry My Husband - GOD! I have been spoiled ALL OVER THE PLACE with this drama. I am still on episode 5 of this drama. At this point, I am just waiting until it has completed and then I am going to binge watch the rest of it. There have been SO MANY PEOPLE talking about this drama - ALL OVER THE PLACE! Everywhere - I can't escape it. 😂 The thing is, with these dramas that I am behind o, January was such a bad watching month for me because I avoided watching dramas. So, I ended up behind on all these airing kdramas because of that. That is TOTALLY on me. I did not want to avoid social media for the entire month or more just to avoid spoilers. This drama is just everywhere that even if I was trying to avoid spoilers, I don't think I could have. I have no idea what I am going to think of this drama once I binge it. With the first 5 episodes I have watched, I have loved it. So, I have no idea what I feel about BOA's character or anything.
My Happy Ending - I have not watched more episodes of this drama either. I still am OBSESSED with it because I have only watched the episodes, I watched back in January too. It ends this coming week so; I am excited to watch more and catch up. I am curious to see if the one thing I want to happen will actually happen. This story has been confusing from the beginning so, I have seen things on social media about this drama but have been confused by it. This drama lived off of the fact that it has an unreliable narrator. So, you can't really be spoiled on it because you don't know if the clip you are accidently seeing is actually true or not. I am PRAYING this drama ends well though.
Queen of Divorce - I have watched the first 4 episodes of this drama. I will agree with other people and say it is not what I expected. From the promos and posters, you would think you were getting a comedy. You do get that a little bit BUT overall, you are dealing with a revenge drama. It gets quite dark especially in the first couple of episodes. I like this drama A LOT so far. The leads have chemistry and I need to see her ex-husband get what is coming to him. I was spoiled on the first kiss for the leads in this week's episodes and I am not happy with the context on how it happened. I am not going to spoil it but it is definitely not how you want a first kiss to happen. It wasn't even like a tropey accidental kiss. I am not looking forward to watching the kiss but I am liking everything else about the drama so far.
JDRAMAS
House of Ninjas (*ADDICTED) - I AM LOVING THIS JDRAMA! I have watched 4 episodes and plan to finish it up this weekend. It is everything I expected this drama to be but also is so much more than what I was expecting. I think Japanese dramas do this to me all of the time. You expect just an action filled Ninja story but you also get a family drama. The heart of this drama is about a family and grief which is just SO GOOD! It definitely has a plot point that I think is sort of tropey and cliche and unpredictable but I still like this drama a lot. let me just say, if you as an audience member don't see a body, that character is NEVER 100% DEAD until you see the body. I am just going to leave it at that.
TDRAMAS
Light the Night Season 1 - I was NOT expecting this drama to be a crime drama. 😂 I thought this was going to be a women centered - working in a nightclub drama. I thought it was going to be about women and them being friends and them talking about their life problems and overcoming the problems. We might still have that but it also has crime and murder overlaid on top. I know A LOT of people love this drama. If you are familiar with Taiwanese dramas, you will recognize SOMEONE in this drama. Everyone and their mother from Taiwanese dramaland are in this drama either as a main role or even a cameo. That statement is only from episode 1 as well.
That is my current watchlist for February 2024. Some dramas I will be finishing over this weekend. Other dramas I know will be on my watchlist into March because I am behind on them. I don't plan on dropping anything yet.
