December is time that we immediately think of fireplaces, the holidays, family and OF COURSE...SNOW! Well at least that is what I think of when I think of December.
Now I am a sucker for cinematography and beautiful scenes when it comes to dramas. Honestly WHO ISN'T!? So, I thought, why not do a small, fun post about some beautiful snow scenes? These scenes stuck out to me when I watched the drama and also have just stuck with me. Of course, I can't cover all dramas and I am sure I am missing a lot SO LET'S TALK ABOUT IT! What are some of your favorite snow scenes in dramas?
WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING (kdrama)
I remember when I first watched While You Were Sleeping, I gasped at these opening snow scenes. They were just beautiful and with the OSTs playing during the scenes, they were just EVERYTHING! I have re-watched these scenes so much; they are engrained in my brain. To this day, some of my favorite scenes to come out of Kdramaland.
GOBLIN (kdrama)
Goblin has MANY memorable scenes. It is a BEAUTIFUL drama cinematography wise. You would have a million screenshots from this drama if you took pictures of all the scenes in this drama that were nice to look at. I loved the snow scenes in this drama especially when they were wide shots where you could see the forest and scenery around the cast members.
BORN AGAIN (kdrama)
Even though Born Again was a wacky and disappointment of a kdrama this year, I can't deny how beautiful these snow scenes were. I loved these scenes every time the drama returned to the location in the drama. Maybe it is because I am from Wisconsin but I am very bias when it comes to snow in dramas. I always love seeing the beauty of it in Dramaland.
A PIECE OF YOUR MIND (kdrama)
I may not have liked everything about A Piece of Your Mind but I can't deny that it had beautiful cinematography. The snowy and forest scenes from this drama were MAGNIFICENT! I loved how they used the trees to frame the actors in a lot of the shots. The cinematography over all in this drama was SUPERB, not just the snowy scenes.
STORY OF YANXI PALACE (cdrama)
Chinese dramas have a lot of beautiful snow scenes. I always am excited when I come across one in a drama. What I love about the Story of Yanxi Palace snow scenes are the backdrop of the palace. It makes the scenes more EPIC in scale which the magnificence of the palace in the background. The wide shots of this drama are beautiful with the palace as the setting.
ERASED (jdrama)
Erased is one of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE JAPANESE DRAMAS! For it being a dark, crime drama, IT HAS BEAUTIFUL CINEMATOGRAPHY! I just remember sitting there in awe when I was watching the drama because the entire drama was just breathtaking.
