MAY 2023 WRAP UP

May was a crazy LIFE month for me. I know I didn't post as much stuff on the blog in May. I definitely didn't watch and finish as many dramas as I wanted to in May. Summer is starting to show up and it is starting to get nice outside where I am. I am curious to see if I can keep up with my watch schedule and blog schedule through the summer or If I will miss weeks. WE WILL SEE!!

DRAMAS/MOVIES I COMPLETED IN MAY

I really thought I didn't complete a lot of dramas in May but then I realized that I binged some American shows this month. Also, for the past 2 weeks, I binged Till the End of the Moon and watched nothing else. 😂 So, OVERALL, I still did pretty decent for May which is always a crazy life month for me.

Till The End of the Moon (Cdrama) (VIKI): I am DEFINITELY going to be writing a review of this cdrama and also another special blogpost later in June for this drama. I mean COME ON people, I am sure if you aren't living under a rock, you have heard of this cdrama. It was CRAZY popular when it aired and was everywhere. It still is HONESTLY. I have so much I could say about this cdrama because I LOVED IT!! It was one of the best Xianxia dramas I have ever watched. The story is just beautiful. The leads have AMAZING chemistry. Some people might not like the ending but I didn't mind it. If you aren't checking this drama out because you heard it has a bad ending, I would say still check it out because the ending is one of those dramas that is left to your own interpretation and isn't (in my opinion) a bad ending at all. The CGI is GORGEOUS! This drama definitely has some flaws like pacing issues near the end and some characters I couldn't STAND but man WHAT AN AMAZING RIDE!

Black Knight (Kdrama) (NETFLIX): I may be in the minority with my opinion here but I thought this was a solid kdrama. It wasn't perfect but I didn't dislike it as much as other people did. I think it needed more sci-fi. It was a simple story that we have seen before but that is not always bad. Some of the plot points were brought up but needed more context. I loved the cast. It had some exciting action which is always fun to watch. The ending was a little rushed tome but I still enjoyed this drama. It is an easy watch and quite entertaining.

Love Like the Galaxy Part 1 (Cdrama) (VIKI): There is A LOT to like is Part 1 of this drama. The lead couple have GREAT CHEMISTRY! The cinematography is beautiful. Some of the characters made me SO MAD! The comedy at the beginning just didn't work for me. I enjoyed this drama a lot more when there was less comedy towards the middle and end of Part 1. I am curious to continue with Part 2 and see what happens.

Mysterious Love (Cdrama) (VIKI): This was a solid and entertaining drama. This drama has a little bit of everything genre wise. There are lots of things to like about this drama. I loved both couples and their chemistry. I wish the production value was higher because it showed that this drama had a low production value throughout the drama. Some of the story points were also not explained well or missed entirely. It is still a nice, quick binge though.

Love Mate (Kdrama) (VIKI): I wanted to like this BL kdrama more than I did. I am a sucker for office romances. This drama isn't bad but it could have been better. I thought the leads had good chemistry and a healthy relationship once they got together. I think it suffered because it was one of those kdramas that had very short episodes. The pacing was just off. It is still a cute watch but there are better BL Kdramas out there.

Boys Planet (Kvariety) (VIKI): I put this Kvariety show on hold until the end group was revealed. That way I didn't have to be nervous while watching it. This also made me put it on hold for too long. I finally finished it in May. I am excited for the group's debut because I like a lot of the members who made it into the final group.

Bridgerton Season 1 (American Show) (NETFLIX): I liked Bridgerton a lot more than I thought I would. It is definitely different than what I normally watch. The main couple had good chemistry. I would have changed some things about their story in this season. I was still entertained with Season 1.

Bridgerton Season 2 (American Show) (NETFLIX): I liked Season 2 of Bridgerton more than Season 1. I LOVED the main couple of this season. Their chemistry was EVERYTHING! I am curious to see how season 3 plays out with what happened with characters in this season. I would have written some characters differently, made their stories in Season 2 different but I was still very much entertained with Season 2 of Bridgerton.

DRAMAS I DROPPED IN MAY

I dropped a couple of dramas this month. I drop dramas for various reasons. The biggest one is if I am not enjoying it, I will just drop it. I don't want to waste my time on something I am not enjoying

In May 2023, I dropped 2 dramas

Joseon Attorney: A Morality (Kdrama): I dropped this drama for 2 reasons. I fell behind on episodes so, I had quite a few episodes to catch up with. Also, because I was behind on episodes, I got spoiled on some things. I did not like the direction that the story took on so I dropped it so, I did not have to deal with something I did not like.

Star Struck (Kdrama): I tried the first 2 episodes. I had the intention to continue watching this drama but as I thought about clicking play on the next episode, I was not excited to click play. So, I just took it as a sign and dropped the drama.

NEW JUNE 2023 DRAMAS I AM EXCITED FOR:

There is quite a few Kdramas coming out in June that I have my eye on. Korean dramas are the only thing I know that is coming out in June. I have no idea what Cdramas are confirmed for June and no other dramas from other dramas have caught my eye this month. SO, JUNE WILL BE ALL ABOUT THE KDRAMAS! Granted, I will admit, I do watch a lot of Kdramas all the time anyway 😂

Love Tractor (Kdrama): [PREMIERES JUNE 7TH, 2023]

I have no idea what streaming site is going to get this BL Kdrama but if I have access to it, I will check it out. I am currently not watching any BL Kdramas currently. This BL drama has longer episodes which is ALWAYS good. It also is done by the same studio who did Semantic Error which is a GREAT BL kdrama if you have not seen it yet.

Bloodhounds (Kdrama) (NETFLIX): [PREMIERES JUNE 9TH, 2023]

I mean WHO ISN'T excited for this Kdrama? 😂 If you have seen stills or the trailer for this drama, you will know why. This looks like a drama that is right up my alley. We got crime. We got action. We got a GREAT cast. This drama looks like it will be an anxiety filled CRAZY RIDE!

See You in My 19th Life (Kdrama) (NETFLIX): [PREMIERES JUNE 17TH, 2023]

I think this drama has a very interesting looking synopsis to me. The minute it mentioned reincarnation I WAS IN! I LOVE reincarnation stories. This drama also is a fantasy drama which is always a plus for me. I am ready for a magical romance drama to take me through the summer. Maybe I am looking forward to this drama so much because I just got done bingeing a magical Xianxia and want another magical fantasy drama.😂

Lies Hidden in My Garden (Kdrama) (RUMOR is AMAZON PRIME): [PREMIERE JUNE 19TH, 2023]

THIS DRAMA LOOKS MADE FOR ME! It is a shorter drama of only 8 episodes. We have another thriller/mystery drama. It seems that it might have a little makjang mixed in from the trailer. I love the theme of secrets behind closed door. It will definitely have some hard topics discussed like abuse. I hope it is a female centered drama and these women work together. We will have to see when it airs.

Numbers (Kdrama): [PREMIERES JUNE 23RD, 2023]

The only reason this drama is on my list is because of Kim Myung Soo being the lead. I love him but I need more information about this drama. It is tagged on MyDramalist as a mystery which always makes me notice a new drama. I am sure it will be an uncovering corruption story. I am definitely going to check it out if I get access to it. I won't make any promises of sticking with it until I check it out first.

Revenant (Kdrama) (RUMOR is DISNEY +): [PREMIERES JUNE 23RD, 2023]

I am curious about this drama but I am also scared. I don't do possession dramas and this one has a tag of possession and occult on MyDramalist. So, I will have to see first if we get access to this drama in the USA because Disney Plus is always a problem here. I do love the cast for this drama which is a HUGE reason I have my eye on it. I again am just worried about the tags for this drama because it is more in the direction of horror which I am always careful about. 😂

Mrs. Durian (Kdrama): [PREMIERES JUNE, 2023 (Rumor is June 17th but not confirmed)]

THIS KDRAMA IS THE ONE I AM MOST CURIOUS ABOUT IN JUNE! The trailer looks so interesting! It looks like it has a lot of things that I love in dramas. It looks like it is a little makjang. It looks like it has fantasy elements. The synopsis mentions time travel. The first trailer gave us a lot but also no information at the same time. I hope we get more information and a confirmed premiere date for this drama. I also hope I get access to it because my curiosity is DEFINITELY piqued for this one.

That is all I watched in May and what I am looking forward to in June. I am really curious what I actually will watch and like. I wonder if I will drop anything. I think I might be headed into a little bit of a drama slump so; I hope something really grabs me in June. I am liking what I am watching now but nothing I am REALLY excited for.
