It is snowing and cold outside. You just got yourself some hot cocoa and now settling on your couch under a blanket. But what do you watch? You have a cozy, winter night ahead of you so how about some of these suggestions?
When the Weather is Fine
You are stuck inside and might be watching the snow fall outside from your window, When the Weather is Fine is the perfect drama to watch if you like doing this. It has plenty of snow scenes or scenes where characters are drinking hot beverages, bundled up in sweaters and watching the snow from inside their houses. It takes place in a smaller town, in the countryside of Korea so the drama moves slower just like life would in the countryside. I mean it has a bookstore where you can drink coffee - QUINTESSENTIAL WINTERY DRAMA TO WATCH!
A Piece of Your Mind
A Piece of Your Mind is also a slower moving melodrama. It has some BEAUTIFUL outside snow scenes. The cinematography of this drama is one reason why this would be a great drama to watch on a cozy winter night. It is just a beautiful drama to watch. It is a healing drama as well where characters get through grief with each other and learn to live again. The OSTs in this drama as well are memorable and a joy to listen too. The OSTs also create a great atmosphere for a snowy night.
Find Me in Your Memory
Find Me in Your Memory may be a crime drama. It may be a thriller drama BUT it is also a drama with a lovely romance. This is another healing drama where the leads heal through getting to know each other and supporting one another. Their romance is healthy and the couple has GREAT chemistry between each other. One of my favorite romance dramas of 2020. The cinematography also was quite beautiful in this one with a few snow scenes.
Just Between Lovers
You will find a theme in the last couple of dramas and the drama on this list. They are all healing dramas. Just Between Lovers is no different. There is something comforting about watching people supporting each other and allowing them to face their fears, grief and worries and come out the other side healed. This drama had me crying through the entire thing. The couple had so much chemistry and SUCH AMAZING ACTING!
Chocolate
There is something comforting when you watch a drama where food is involved. Chocolate is good example of this. The main couple heal through food and the interactions with each other. The food scenes LOOK DELICIOUS so watch it when you aren't hungry. You not only have healing with the main couple but also this drama has to do with hospice care so you have those stories as well that contribute to this perspective that you get in the drama. Through all this pain you also saw strength and perseverance - very much the human experience of life.
Good Morning Call
Good Morning Call may be a trope filled Jdrama but sometimes there is something comforting about watching a tropey romance drama. You have some nice winter episodes and snow scenes in this drama series as well. What is nice about this drama is that you have 2 seasons to watch SO, MANY EPISODES TO BINGE ON THAT WINTER NIGHT!
Hey Sensei, Don't You Know?
Hey Sensei, Don't You Know is such an easy watch. It has little to no angst in its romance. The relationship is healthy and both of the characters in the relationship are so supportive of each other. This is just a good - old - heartwarming romance drama that you will definitely find yourself smiling throughout the drama.
Triad Princess
Triad Princess is such a fun watch! It is only 6 episodes so it is a quick binge. The main couple is just fun to watch when they interact with each other. It is a light drama with a lot of funny scenes. You will definitely feel happy when watching this drama. I can't wait for a season 2 for this drama.
