So, I guess this has changed to just talking about the Cdramas and Kdramas I am excited for every year. These are the two countries I watch the most from. I want to change that in 2025 hopefully and watch more Jdramas but we will have to see. If you have not read my most anticipated Kdramas of 2025, you can check it out here. This list will be my most anticipated cdramas.
Now, I probably have mentioned all or at least most of these cdramas at least once, especially in my NEW IQIYI, NEW YOUKU and NEW TENCENT 2024/2025 posts. I have linked those blog posts above if you want to look at them again. I am going to try and mention some new cdramas that I have not mentioned before but I definitely will be covering some cdramas I already have talked about. Other cdramas mentioned in those posts have already aired before 2024 ended so, of course, I will not be mentioning them in this post. There are also more cdramas on those 3 lists that I will not mention even if they might air in 2025 because this list would just be way too long. I am going to try and keep this list to around 20 or so cdramas since my Kdrama list was the same amount. We will have to see. Just know that there is way more cdramas out there that I am excited to watch than the ones just on this list. As you will see from my list, I am excited for a lot of Xianxia and crime but those are my two favorite genres for cdramas so, it makes sense.
LET'S BEGIN!
Quick Note, all of these cdramas are rumored for 2025 or even 2026. We all know that cdramas can premiere out of the blue or something can happen, and the dramas never sees the light of day. There are a lot of dramas out there that I am sure I have not heard of yet that will come out in 2025. This list will be long, but I am not putting every cdrama I am excited for on the list, or this blogpost will never end. This list is in no particular order. Some dramas will have posters and teasers, and some will not. Let me know what cdramas you are excited for!
Premiere Date: Sometime in 2025
I am anticipating that IQIYI is going to have a good year for me. IQIYI, by far, is my favorite cdrama network and I doubt that will change. Calming Waves has a lot going for it. It is a historical crime drama WHICH WE KNOW I LOVE! I am trying to watch more of those in 2025. It also stars Wang Xing Yue who all know from The Double from 2024. He plays a detective in a historical setting. The trailer looks creepy and dark, just the way I like it. This is definitely one of my most anticipated dramas of 2025.
Premiere Date: Sometime in 2025
Everything I see from this cdrama just makes me more excited for this drama. I am super curious of the Bai Lu and Joseph Zheng pairing. Joseph Zheng with white hair is always a plus. It is a Xianxia so that is always a plus for me. It looks like it is going to be an angsty ride and we all know Bai Lu does angsty plots well. This drama has BUDGET, and it shows.
Premiere Date: Sometime in 2025
I don't know why I did not mention this one before. One reason why I am excited for this drama is the cast. THE LEADS LOOK SO GOOD! I mean the drama just released intense looking character posters and Song Yi and Cheng Lei look great. I am also SUCH a fan of both lead actors and think they are great so that is a plus. I also like A LOT of the supporting cast as well so, that is a plus for me. The trailer makes it seem like the leads will have great chemistry. It is wuxia which is another genre I tend to gravitate towards. The synopsis sounds like something I will like as well. The two leads pair up and work together to save their respective countries. We have some mysteries involved and also amnesia which is a guilty pleasure of mine.

Anything with Coroner in the title, I already am excited for it. We know this though. The trailer looks creepy and definitely something I would totally like. We know this though. I love Landy Li so, I am excited for her in this drama. Ao Rui Peng, I don't really have an opinion on him. I have not seen him in anything so, I can't make a judgement on him. So, we will have to see if I like him in this drama. Landi Li plays a coroner who teams up with a prince to investigate crimes. That is ALL I NEED TO KNOW! I have said this before I will say it again. Dramas with historical doctors and coroners are CRACK TO ME! Don't ask me why because I don't know, especially with the doctor part. I also think that IQIYI does historical mysteries very well. The screenwriter wrote Love like the Galaxy which is a favorite cdrama of mine.

Out of the 3 dramas from this series, I think this is the one I am most excited for. This drama has released a new trailer, and I love the look of it. Â I love the two leads separately. I never pictured them working together in a romance drama. I love that Leon Zhang is getting more lead roles. I always thought he was a talented actor, and he has an extensive resume due to the fact he has done a lot of supporting roles. I am looking forward to seeing the two leads' chemistry together and what their story will be like. Liu Shi Shi needs no introduction. The supporting cast for this drama is also stacked.

I feel like we have been waiting for this drama FOREVER! I am super curious about this pairing - Tiffany Tang and Liu Xue Yi. Tiffany Tang has not been in a drama in a while that I have watched so, I am excited to see this drama coming. I am curious about their chemistry. It is, of course, a Xianxia which is always a plus.
Premiere Date: Sometime in 2025 (maybe, just finishing up filming in the next month)
This drama really needs no introduction. I am sure when it premieres (when it does), everyone will be talking about it. It is almost done with filming so; we might be able to see it before 2026 but we will have to see. Another pairing, Dilraba and Chen Fei Yu, I never saw pairing up which makes me curious. It has a tag of Adventure on MDL so, I am always excited when I see that.
Premiere Date: Sometime in February 2025
The fact that this drama already has a rumored premiere date is exciting. The first reason I am excited for this is that it is in the genre of Xianxia. I have aid this before, I really have no opinion on either of the leads. I haven't seen them in enough to have an opinion. I like that this drama doesn't seem to have comedy. I could be wrong on that. We will have to see. I hate when Xianxias or even any drama for that matter advertises as one thing but then when it starts, it throws comedy into it. I rather avoid comedy for the most part. This drama also looks beautiful from the trailers. Hopefully this one surprises me.

This is a drama that I have discovered recently. It has my historical doctor trope, and it is the female lead which I love. It is a republican era drama which I am always drawn too because of the costumes. It stars Tian Jia Rui who I am sure a lot of other people love other than me but I like him as well. The genres for this drama are thriller, historical, romance. I love when we have a drama that pairs thriller and romance together. Apparently, Wang Yu Wen is the female lead, and she plays a doctor. A war lord is killed in her clinic and now she has to figure out who did it. Tian Jia Rui plays a patient in her clinic who killed the commander and eventually the doctor and him form a romance and decide to protect the clinic. This synopsis definitely sounds like something I would like.

I mean Cheng Lei is in this so, I am excited for it. I have heard this being described as it follows somewhat the story of Mulan if you change some things like why the female lead goes to war and the fact she is betrayed. Well, I like Mulan so, this description makes me interested. The leads look good together and the trailers look intense. The trailers also revealed that this is a revenge drama which I did not know before. I LOVE REVENGE DRAMAS! So, this is probably a must see for me in 2025.

This drama recently released new posters and everything I see from it just makes me more excited for it. There have been a lot of onset leaks from this drama and everything looks great. First off, it is a part of the Lost Tomb Series. That alone gets me excited because I LOVE THAT SERIES! Second, it takes place during the Republican era, and I love the costumes and the look that everyone has. Third, it has bromance vibes with the two leads AND WE ALWAYS LOVE A GOOD BROMANCE! So, this drama is HIGH on my list for 2025. IQIYI does amazing bromance dramas in my opinion. Maybe I should do a future series of just bromance cdramas.... there are a lot of crime ones that I haven't seen yet.

I think this drama just got its license last month. I am SUPER curious about this pairing of Liu Shi Shi and Shawn Dou. I have not seen Shawn Dou in FOREVER! It is a historical mystery drama so, that works for me. Liu Shi Shi plays a wandering doctor. We love a nice historical drama with a doctor. It has thriller, historical, mystery genres attached to it. This drama is speaking my language. This has a lot going for it for me.

I am unsure if this drama will air in 2025 or not, but I am just going to put it here anyway. I hope it comes out in 2025. This drama has a lot of things I look for in a drama. It looks like a darker crime drama. Jing Tian plays a cop who is investigating a serial murder case. Zhang Xin Cheng plays a criminal psychology professor who is injured and suffering from amnesia. They team up to solve cases. I am sure there is going to be romance involved. Apparently, the criminal professor will start to regain his memories and might be a murderer so, we will have to see how that plays out.

I am thinking this might come out in 2025. As I said before, I don't think I have ever seen a cdrama that portrays fire investigations. This piques my interest. I think IQIYI is also putting out a fire investigation drama in 2025. This drama looks angsty and gritty. I also don't think I have ever seen Xu Kai in a crime drama before.

I have my fingers crossed that this drama will come out in 2025. I don't think I have talked about this one yet. First off, Luo Yun Xi is in it, and HE LOOKS FANTASTIC! His hair will be this two-toned look with white being on the tips of the wig. All of his costumes and behind the scenes look fantastic. It also looks like it will be a mystery drama with a group of men traveling around and solving a murder case. I love when Wuxia dramas do this. We need more Wuxia bromance dramas, but I also have a ton I have not watched yet. I need to get on that for sure.

This drama wrapped about 2 months ago. So, we might see it in 2025. We will have to wait and see. I mean it is obvious why I am excited for this one. Ren Jia Lun stars in it. I love him. We know this. He plays an emperor who in order to save the people, he changes his name and travels the world secretly. He meets Peng Xiao Ran's character. She plays the leader of a sect. They save the world together, but it is revealed later that she is the daughter of his enemy. So, we got Ren Jia Lun with angst again. I mean it is a given at this point with him. The first photos and posters of this drama look great. We also got some angsty short clips too that were leaked online.

I feel like we have been waiting for this one forever. I think this drama has been rumored to air for the past 6 months at this point. I have been a LONG-TIMEÂ fan of Liang Jie and have watched a lot of her dramas. I am curious about her chemistry with Chen Zhe Yuan. This drama is centered around explosive experts. I feel like this little subgenre of romance dramas is a genre I could get behind. I think the action/thriller aspect would help me with the romance parts of the drama. We will have to see.

I loved Till the End of the Moon and one of the reasons why I loved it was because the lead couple were TRUE enemies to lovers. They HATED each other in the beginning. Fated Hearts is giving me that same vibe. The trailers for this drama look intense and make Li Qin and Chen Zhe Yuan look like they HATE each other for sure. A rumor says that this will air in Q3 of 2025 but that is just a rumor right now. I love the theme of red and black that seems to be throughout the costumes and promo for this drama.

Another drama that I know a lot of people will watch when it airs. It stars Xiao Zhan, of course. I am curious about this drama for 2 reasons. The drama recently released a new trailer and looks like intense and high budget. It definitely will be a revenge drama which I like. Second reason is that this drama is a part of the Lost Tomb Series. Now if you are not familiar with The Lost Tomb Franchise, Zang Hai is a Historical character mentioned throughout the series. He is responsible for building some of the famous tombs in the series such as the Paracel Underwater Tomb and the heavenly Palace. His tombs are known to have many puzzles and deadly traps. In The Lost Tomb 2, it was revealed that he was forced to build the Heavenly Palace by being imprisoned in it for over 10 years even though the tomb at the top of the palace was already there before Zang Hai came to the mountain to build the Heavenly Palace. It is unclear if we will see Xiao Zhan's character actually build these tombs or anything but that is why it is connected to the Lost Tomb Series. So, maybe the writer just used the name of the character and just wrote a revenge drama. We will have to wait and see.

Victoria Song being in this drama piqued my interest. I love her. I have seen a lot of her dramas. I have not seen any of her newer dramas so, it is exciting to see her have dramas coming out. I think Ding Yu Xi has been noticed a lot more in 2024. So, I am glad to him in this drama too. I am curious about their chemistry. It is a reborn story which I am always a fan of. I am hoping it doesn't have too much comedy so; we will have to see how the drama plays out. One trailer showed comedy and the other did not. So, it might be a mix.

Last but certainly not least, we have Love on the Turquoise land. I think I am curious about this drama because it looks so different. The synopsis is what drew me in. It also is a thriller, supernatural, fantasy drama that looks like it has death and murder involved. Of course, it doesn't hurt that Dilraba and Cheng Xing Xu star in it. This looks like it could have some tomb raiding involved which is always a genre of cdramas I love.
